June 26th 2015, I walked outside of Marlboro High School with a grin on my face, and an excited feeling in my tummy. Schools out and summer vacation has begun! The warm summer breeze brushed against my skin. I said to myself “Oh this is perfect.” I looked at my phone as soon as my brother picked me up from the front of the school. I had already known whom had texted me, and what the message was about. It was that time to go to the Toms River house right on the bay and stay there every weekend Until, the end of summer. Every summer since then I’ve been going down to Toms River with my Boyfriend and his family. It truly is my happy place. When I’m there the serenity cancels out all of my stress and gives me the feeling of peace. Let me tell you a little more about my happy place, As soon as you pull up you see a brown house with a giant deck. It also has an over ground pool surrounded by lovely bushes that blocks the streets view of the pool. When you pull into the driveway you hear the pebbles and rocks you pass over with the car. It has a cool vibe to it similar to as if you were on a tropical island. …show more content…
My favorite place in the whole world was that dock. Each time I stayed there I would wake up and make my way outside to the dock to meditate. I don’t always get the chance to meditate anymore because of my surroundings and distractions. But this was the place that was perfect for it. The dock would sway back and forth as the gentle waves pushed up against it. The cooling breeze would brush against my body as I sat down to start my meditation. I took a deep breath through my nose and smelt the salty air and immediately it brought me a sense of calmness. The suns warmth beaded against my forehead. Sitting on the dock I felt the texture of the wood. It needed repair but I grew fond of the feeling from it. The feeling of it being worn gave it specialty. I didn’t feel relaxed meditating on any other

One of the most beautiful places that I have ever lived is Santa Maria California We lived about 15 minutes from the pacific ocean and found ourselves frequenting its rugged landscape and chilly water. my favorite beach is Pismo beach. There was a lovely park nearby and plenty of open space to play with pets and enjoy a picnic lunch with family. We routinely spent time at Pismo Beach, searching for sand glass running in the waves and breathing the invigorating air. I was constantly in awe of Gods magnificent creation!…

Everyone has a place that is special to them, and mine is Blue Marsh Lake in Reading Pennsylvania. Blue Marsh is a serene and calming place that is without the traffic sounds of everyday life. As soon as I step out of the vehicle at Blue March Lake, the warm sun on my skin and the sounds of the water engulfs me in a blanket of peace. Whenever I head out to this special lake, I know I can prepare myself for complete relaxation. World’s Best Injera Waiting for school to end, five, four, three, two ,one, beeeeep, summer officially started. Temperatures reaching 80-90 degrees, people walking around with nearly nothing on, men with shorts and underwear and girls with bikinis. As I’m walking through the hallway I see mixed emotions, people who are crying, who don’t want to leave their friends then there’s people who just run out the door with excitement and don’t bother to look back to say goodbye. So shocked in everything from the first day, when people are finessing their new cloth and shoes, to finals, where people are stressing about their grades, “Do you think I can reach that A+ if I do some extra credit,” Students tend to ask, everything goes by so quickly. This summer my plan is to hit the weight room and work on my game so I can play varsity the following season.…

One such spot is Tommy T’s, an arcade that doubles as ice cream parlor, where my brother and I would walk up to for a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream. Across the street from there is the Exxon gas station where we routinely loaded up on sugary drinks and candy. Then down the road there is the old grocery store where everything is overpriced, but of course must be checked out to see if anything is worth trying to talk our mom into buying. There is a rental house where I stayed in with my best friend Nicole one summer when she vacationed with us. At that house we stood in the driveway in knee deep water while it continued pouring down rain with the wind blowing insanely and all the while we were just throwing a football around.…

When I was ten years old, I moved to West Texas. I loved swimming in the lakes and ponds around my home before, so I was disappointed when I found out that there was only one body of water near my new home. This “lake” (about the size of a football field) was called Clearwater Lake. It took about an hour’s time to drive there. The first time my family drove over there, I was amazed by how many people there were, all the cars packed liked sardines, the people moving so slowly it was like molasses.…

I was 13 years old, just starting off high school, when I realized what this dark cloud that’s been floating over me for the past couple of months really is. It wouldn’t be until more than a year later until I seek out professional help. It started off innocently enough as just a feeling of constant emptiness at the pit of my stomach. It slowly turned into randoms bouts of extreme rage, where I’d take out my anger physically, not just on the walls and mirrors of my childhood home and not just on my family, but on myself. I couldn’t understand why I felt this way, why I wasn’t “normal”.…

It was in early June of 2006, a pleasant, exciting Saturday evening. One hundred of us sit anxiously, one after the other, in cold metal chairs in the cafeteria of my elementary school. We wore purple silky gowns. We wait nervously for our names. Once all our names are called, we wait patiently for what happens next, and look for our parents faces, we had just heard that we were the 2006 graduating kindergarten class at Elgin Elementary.…

The summer between my sophomore year and junior year was a life changing period. For one, my mother and I moved to Waco, Texas, an 8-hour drive from my home of Weslaco. Along with this new address, I also had a new school. Naturally, I went to the school nearest my home, Connally High School. I didn’t know it on my first day of school, but Connally High School would become my 2nd out of 3 high schools I would attend.…
