Toms is a for-profit company located in Playa Del Rey, California which manages the now non-operational non-profit division, Friends of Toms. Toms was established in the year 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, a businessman from Arlington, Texas. The company designs and sells shoes which are based on the Argentine alpargata design along with selling eyewear. When Toms sells a pair of shoes, a new pair of shoes is gifted to a poor child, and when Toms sells a pair of eyewear, piece of the profit is used to save or reinstate the eyesight for people in poor countries. Also, the company introduced TOMS Roasting Co. in 2014. With every purchase of TOMS Roasting Co. coffee, the company works with other organizations that they refer to as “giving partners” to offer 140 liters of safe water to people who need them. In the year 2015, TOMS Bag Collection was founded to aid discuss about the requirement for advancements in maternal health. Purchases of TOMS Bags aids offering training for accomplished birth attendants and hand out birth kits containing items that help a woman securely deliver her baby.
