Tommy Johnson Book Report

August 8, 1994, in a house in the slums of Detroit, lived a boy, Tommy Johnson, his mother Tina Johnson, and his father Erik Johnson. They are a lower-class family and struggle for money each month to pay the bills. Tommy's dad works six days a week so he can provide for the family. Tommy's mom stays at home to take care of Tommy who is only the age of nine. They have no family around them and very few close friends to rely on when they are struggling.

Tommy's dad Erik, works at the city dump. His main job is to separate the trash as it comes through. For instance he will put the cardboard and on pile, plastic in another, and glass in another all to be recycled. He goes to work at 5.00 A.M. and gets off at 7 P.M. he works a fourteen

Those friends that he has so happen to be part of a street gang and the recruit Tommy at the age of sixteen. Now part of a gang he starts to getting into gang wars with other street gangs. One night he found the people who killed his father. He felt hatred inside he wanted to kill the guys who killed his father, and caused his mom and him all this pain. But he waited. Tommy now starts to pop pills and do other heavy drugs because of the influence of the people in his gang. He starts to stay out at nights and not coming home. Tommy finds the people who killed his father once again this time he wasnt going to let them go. He tells his gang members what happen and what they did to his father. So they drive by where they where at and do a drive by and kill them just like they did to Tommy's dad. One day he was hanging out with the gang on the streets and he starts shooting drugs. But this time was different from all the other times he has done it this time he took too much. He passes out and stops breathing. Tommy's gang members get scared and they didn't call 911 because the don't wanna get caught. Some homeless guy walks by and sees him and calls an ambulance. By the time they got him to the hospital they Tommy lost his pulse, Tommy had died. As they tried to shock him back to life his pulse appeared. Tommy …show more content…
Tina came into the room before she could say anything Tommy told her he had died and that he seen a man in front of these gates. Inside of those gates were many people the place was amazing it was beautiful. Tommy said the man in front of the gates was my heavenly father and that my earthly father is waiting for me but it's not my time. Tommy said as soon as the man said that I came back alive. Tina said you meet Jesus. Tommy had never been to church he didn't know who Jesus was he was confused about the whole thing, but he did know one thing, that he needed to know who that man
