“The future was wide open.” Eddie was an eighteen year old boy who just graduated from high school and moved to Hollywood. When he got to Hollywood he met a girl and they moved in together. “Into The Great Wide Open,” tells a story about the life of a rock star, using a shifting tone, in a realistic.
Tom Petty’s song tells a story of the rise and fall of Eddies adventure to Stardom. It all began when Eddie graduated high school and moved to Hollywood. In Hollywood, Eddie got a tattoo. He met a girl and they moved in together. Eddie worked as a bouncer She played guitar and she taught him some chords. Papers said he played from the heart. He made a record and it went in the charts.
