In the novel to kill a mocking bird , racism is a major theme and is revelany between blacks and whites throughout the novel. Racism is defined as "prejudice" or discrimination directed against someone of a different race. This is an ongoing problem to both the reader and the story , as many incidents are shown. An obvious instance of racism in the novel can be seen in the house keeper Callpurnia. The finches are white while on the other hand calpurnia is black , this shows how blacks were in a low class of society. In addition to this the final , most known and shown instance of racism is the trial of Tom Robinson a court issue of an innocent black man acxused of raping Mayella Ewell (a white women).
