In Something Wicked This Way Comes, Tom Fury is characterized as lustful, susceptible through internal and external conflict. The textual evidence" He knew what color her eyes would be." (Bradbury 43), "what color was her hair?" (43), and "How tall was she?" (43) characterizes Tom Fury's lustfulness through internal conflict. This creates Tom Fury's characterization of lustfulness through internal conflict by him being unable to resist his lust inside. This internal conflict in used to show that Tom Fury is a good candidate for the carnival as he partakes in sin. The textual evidence, "Dwarf was looking down" (169), "eyes were the lost bits and fitful pieces of a man named Fury" (169), and "went looking for something he knew not what" (170)
