Comparison Of Tom Brady Vs. Peyton Manningning

Improved Essays
The age-old argument of Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning has been going on since Brady was drafted in 2000. Who is the better quarterback? Who’s the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL. It must be one of these two. My money is on Peyton Manning. I don’t want to take shine away from Brady, though, because both are spectacular in their own ways.
Let me tell you why it must be Manning. I might be a bit of a bandwagon when it comes to Manning, but there is good reason for it. This man is a God among men. He was a number one overall pick in 1998. He was a major innovator to the game. He’s like a surgeon on the field, dissecting whatever defense he encounters. He’s one of the first QB’s to implement the no-huddle offense and switch the play up to

Even though he was drafted in the 6th round of the year 2000 draft, this man has grown to become one of the greatest of all time. His name has been mentioned among names like Manning and Montana and Young. He has 2 NFL MVPs. He also won 5 super bowls with the New England Patriots. That’s more than any other quarterback in NFL history. It’s the most sought-after stat, but even though he has 5, a lot of people doubt his greatness. There’s been multiple scandals in Brady’s time with the Patriots. “Spygate”, which accused the Patriots of videotaping opposite teams play call signs so that they knew what they were going do before they did it. There was also “deflategate”, which happened in a game against the Colts. The Patriots deflated balls so it made it hard for the Colts to throw them. Also, Brady is thought of by many to be a system QB. He takes plays from the coach, audibles from time to time, and just makes accurate throws. He’s been under the guidance of Bill Belechik, the Patriots coach, and possibly the greatest coach of all time. Belechik has been known for his witty plays and amazing defense despite not having any big-name players. He plays in smart in the NFL draft, too. He picks up players that compliment his play style. The reason I bring Belechik into this argument is that he can literally put anyone in at QB, and they will shine. This has been proven twice. Brady was injured in the first game of the 08’ season and was out for the rest of the year. His replacement, Matt Cassel, jumped right in and fit like glove. The Patriots went with 12 wins and 4 loses that year despite not having their “star” quarterback. The second instance was the first 4 games of the 2016 season. They went 3 of 4 without Brady which further constitutes that they don’t really need him to win games. Brady only played for the Patriots for his whole career. He’s never went to a different team and did well like Peyton Manning did. Brady does

With his ability to throw the ball downfield, accurate on his throws, calm in the pocket, and the ability to run with the ball when pressure comes or no wide receivers are open, no wonder why San Francisco paid him so much. With Tom Brady planning to play for a few more years, after looking at how much he is getting paid, the Patriots did the right thing by trading him for a second round pick rather than let him walk in free agency and get nothing back for him.…
