Tom Brady The Underdog “I think sometimes in life the biggest challenges end up being the best things that happen in your life.”(-Tom Brady) Tom Brady was the 199th pick of the NFL draft, for he defied all odds by being the best NFL player of all time. Tom Brady, a man who was an underdog his entire career, was the backup quarterback on a 0-8 freshman football team and the 7th string quarterback on the University of Michigan. He made a positive impact on many kids and adults by inspiring them and helping with charities. He Is a huge inspiration towards people all over the country because He is an inspiration, He founded the TB12 foundation, He is a big help and supporter of the best buddies international program. (B) Tom Brady was picked at pick 199 in the NFL Draft. He started at Michigan as the 7th string quarterback. He also got on the Patriots as the backup quarterback. Since Tom Brady was such a low draft pick he was rarely noticed by any teams and he made just a little money compared to the higher draft pick, in other words he wasn't that great in college compared to the NFL. He only got into a game because the starting quarterback got injured. He barely made the 54-man roster. (C)Tom Brady was named the game’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) five times (2002, 2004, 2015, 2017, and 2021). In the second game of the 2001 season, the Patriots’ starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured and Brady was chosen to fill the position. Tom Brady's success shows that therefore people's first impressions of someone as an athlete is not always true because he was always doubted until he got the opportunity to play.
