Tom and Huck On the banks of the mighty Mississippi two boys have an adventure that tests their loyalties and friendship. Mark Twain, the author of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, lays out this great tale which was the inspiration for the movie Tom and Huck. The movie starts out with Tom and his friends going down the Mississippi river and hitting a rock. Tom would have drowned if it were not for someone picking him up out of the river, he later found out it was Huckleberry Finn. The adventure then leads them to the graveyard where they witness Injun Joe murder Doc. Robinson with Muff Potter's knife. Greed motivated Joe to murder, because he wanted the treasure map which was in that grave they were digging up. Afraid that he might …show more content…
To satisfy his friend, Tom writes that on a rock and signs it with his blood. Then the townspeople accuse Muff Potter of the murder. They just wanted to kill him, but Judge Thatcher wants to give him a fair trial. To try and prove Muff’s innocence, Tom and Huck steal the map from Injun Joe. Disguising themselves with mud, Tom went to get it from Joe’s pocket while he was sleeping, but sneezed and woke Joe so they had to run. In all the excitement, Injun Joe gets the map back and finds the treasure, but burns the map. During this time the village believes that Tom is dead and they have a funeral for Tom during the funeral he falls thru the ceiling. Against his oath with Huck, Tom testifies that Injun Joe was the real killer. Then Injun Joe throws an ax at Tom but he holds up the bible which stops the ax from hitting Tom. Injun Joe gets another chance to attack Tom when Tom and Becky get lost in the cave when he is there with Becky for the festival, were Tom stumbled upon Injun Joe’s treasure. Tom emptied the treasure chest because it was too heavy for him to carry. but he threw the empty chest down with Joe so he thought he had the treasure. Injun Joe corners them and starts to
