Tolerance The question if tolerance is always a good thing, or if tolerance isn’t always a good thing shouldn’t be a question. There are very few things in this world that are completely black and white and thus absolutely rarely have a place in it. Unending tolerance just for its sake will inevitably open people(s) up to exploitation by the sophist’s idea of the superman. So, tolerance is not always a good thing. History is rife with examples that will prove time and again that those people who tolerated things have put themselves in a situation to be exploited and/or killed. And keep in mind when I speak of Muslims as a whole I mean fundamental Muslims, who follow their books to the letter. But politics exploits these ideas as well with issues such as gun control, using fear from the actions of some arguably psychologically disturbed people to put blanket laws on everyone. One of the scariest ideas for those who value their constitutional rights are the actions set by our President, Barrack Obama. Because our government attempts to stonewall him in decision making process—as the checks and balances of our constitution allows—he completely circumvented the body of government in declaring law on his own by using the Presidential decree. Which is pretty much a law for all intents and purposes. Though many people in the country applaud his abuse of power because his use of it is to the benefit of many people. While this is a laudable abuse of power for the good, the idea itself sets up precedents of further abuse. A nation cannot pick and choose when to ignore the constitution and abuse power without the system being inevitably exploited at some point where it’s no longer good being done. This is a slippery slope that can lead to the rise of tyrants or suppression of peoples by negating the laws that protect
