Intelligence-led strategy is a tactic that surged from the 9/11 attacks so that police departments can work on gathering intelligence within their communities to prevent terrorist attacks such as the one from 9/11 as well as crimes that are occurring within their jurisdictions (Fritsch, Liederbach, Taylor & Caeti, 2009, pg. 106). The four key objectives in the transformation of local police agencies into intelligence-led organizations are as follows (Fritsch, 2009, pg. 106): 1) There needs to be specific tasks created for officers 2) There needs to be intelligence resources available to officers so that the resources can help officers in the field gather intelligence 3) Employ standardized training programs such as the ones used by federal agencies that have proven to be effective in the past…

Throughout American History we have seen the multiple opinions people can have on immigrants. Whether they are Irish, Russians, Africans, or Southern Europeans, Americans have found reason to stray away from being friendly to their new countrymen, at first. This is seen vividly in the case of Sacco and Vanzetti, two Italian immigrants who were charged and convicted of robbery and murder. The contributing social reasons these men were convicted in American society were Sacco and Vanzetti’s nationality and political beliefs.…
The 9/11 attacks on U.S soil marked the beginning of the war that was declared on terrorism. In turn it also shifted the balance of power among the three branches of government. Congress gave the executive branch unlimited power to act with extreme prejudice and the Supreme Court went along with the decisions the executive branch made to combat terrorism. This paper will explain how the three branches of our federal government- executive, legislative, and judicial- have responded to terrorism.…

For knowledge of the attacks from a terrorist group, “there were many reports on Bin Laden and his growing al Qaeda organization, there was no comprehensive review of what the intelligence community knew and what it did not know, and what that meant. There was no National Intelligence Estimate on terrorism between 1995 and 9/11.” (National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States). The government dealt with the public’s hysteria the best they thought they could at the time. The Roosevelt Administration thought the best way to deal with this was to put Japanese Americans in internment camps.…
