Furthermore, women still have to go through inequality on the workforce. Even after the constant fight to be treated equally on the labor force, it is still common to see misrepresentation of females in certain professions. When it comes to large companies some women are part of the tokenism. “Tokenism is the hiring or acceptance of only a few members of a particular group” (p.212). The problem with the tokenism is that it makes the system appear fair, making harder for the minority group to show the facts about their discrimination. Usually when a woman is hire at an important corporation their employers tend to have low expectations and usually tend to devaluate their performance even if it is the same as their men’s coworkers.
