Merriam-Webster defines racism as, "Poor treatment of or violence against people because of their race, or the belief that some races of people are better than others." This explanation clearly encapsulates the definition of racism, for, ever since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, sin, hatred, and malice have run rampant in this world. All throughout history man has struggled with sin, and therefore, racism. God does not want people to live in anger and hatred of each other, but in the love he has given everyone through his son. Although God gives us the power to forgive, many people still struggle with malice so people scatter history with acts of racism. Even in my own experience and the experience of a close friend, we have encountered this problem in every-day life. Man against man, brother against brother, over the years a pre-determined opinion of someone because of his or her color, race, or religion, created hardened hatred in people's hearts. When a person lets his or her bad feelings control him, it always leads to dreadful things. Such as, in World War 2 in 1939, the Nazis sought out and killed many of the Jewish people. Hitler led terribly brutal fight acting in animosity toward the Jews and blinding the German people's eyes to the truth. In addition, the ever-going racism between "white" and "black" peoples stands for a huge example of racism in the past and present. In the U.S. alone, with slavery as the most prominent form, there have been thousands of situations involving racism.
