“Tobacco accounted for over 3 million deaths, because of the consumption of tobacco products in 1990 the death rate increased to 4.023million by 1998. A figure of 8.4 million deaths was expected to reach in 2020 and 10 million in2030”. For this reason I am in favor of the ban on tobacco advertising in India. And not just adult are being targeted by tobacco companies. Tobacco industry is talking to kids every day in convenience stores, in magazines, online, and through special promotions on TV designed to lure them into thinking that smoking is cool or a way to express their independence. Tobacco companies are pinpointing youth curiosities and spending enormous resources tracking the behaviors and preferences of youth under 21. The money could be used on other goods and services, for instance other forms of agriculture which would result in no health problems and death resulting from tobacco use. “Funny but the studies have showed that research were more labor intensive as a result to prove this”. To sum up the oppositions argument, should they ban tobacco advertisement in India. “The opposing parties argued that the government was bluntly telling smokers that they are not capable of making decisions by themselves by imposing the ban. They actually mean that there should be freedom of choice. In other words people are capable of distinguishing between good and bad and they should be left to made decision on their own”.
Smoking should be banned because it doesn 't just harm the person using the product it kills people, smoking produces second hand smoke that affect the people around them. It deteriorates the health of the smoker/ user and pollutes our precious
