To What Extent Should Universities Be Free Canada

Today, I will be stating my opinion and three reasons of weather, university should be free for all Canadians or should Canadians pay for university. I believe that university should be free for all Canadians. My reasons being are because, low-income families cannot afford it, education should not be bought with money, and if university is free, for all those people who become successful and get good jobs it would build a good reputation in Canada.

One of my reasons why universities should be free is because of the low-income families who cannot afford it. Universities keep getting expensive year by year. Hard working students that live in low-income families that are looking to build a bright future for themselves, but struggle too, because

Education is knowledge, everyone should have the right to access knowledge for free. knowledge is to know your surroundings, know what is right and wrong and what helps keep us alive today and how we live in the future. Advance knowledge is what is taught to us in university and should be free to learn. An advantage of more knowledge, for example, would be, if Wilson was on a flight, and the plane crashed but Wilson survived. He could use his knowledge that he was taught in university, to try and survive in the wilderness and find ways to locate help. That is what knowledge could do help Wilson survive and that is why universities should be free so if people are ever in trouble like Wilson, they can use their knowledge that they were taught and help themselves.

My last and final reason why universities should be free for all Canadians are because if universities are free and hardworking Canadians who come to universities to learn and make themselves a bright future are successful, it can build a good reputation in Canada and for all those jobs that need more employees like plumbing could be filled. An example for this would be if Signa went to university and it was free and was hard working. If she became successful, it could build up Canadas' reputation and it would want to attract more people to come to Canada and the economy would also grow

All in all, it is my goal to try and persuade you to agree that everyone should have equal access to the same amount of knowledge. That way they can always make the decision to accept the free education if they think it fit for them, or they could do something else with their life that does not involve needing a college education. Free education means that there could be more job opportunities for people. There won’t be the struggle of having to put your life on hold in order to pay off student loans. You would be able to save more money and spend it on whatever you needed to make your dreams come…

I believe post secondary education should be free because it would affordable for low-income students, the government of Ontario provide free services for the students that have learning disabilities or the student have a disability, and a student doesn’t have to take loans for the tuition fees. First of all, if post secondary education in the future is free it would be affordable for low-income students. It can help students save money or have discounts for their fees. Low income level families don’t have to worry about the payment since the amount has been decreased. Also, for university level education is a better way for higher lifetime earnings and the returns which means that university degrees will increase for the next 19-20 years.…

For students to understand the investment of an education shows a maturity that they developed by taking out loans. It is required for students to undergo a seminar about loans and how it should be monitored. This helps students understand the real life aspect of adult hood and money management ("Huffington Post" ). If college were to be free, yes students would not have to take out any loans whatsoever but many would not develop the maturity needed for life after college. It is understandable for students to disagree with the argument and refute that college is something that should be free to anyone.…

By making all public colleges free in America it would roughly cost between fifty and thirty billion dollars, which may appear like a mountain of money, specifically taxpayers money; but the government is spending a substantial amount of money on profitable colleges which have extremely low graduation rates (Samuels, 2014). Higher education can be seen to improve the economy immensely. If all 18-24 year olds were enrolled and active in college unemployment would reduce by 2 million people (Samuels, 2014)! A higher educated America would also allow us to become more competitively economically and academically on an international level. Also a more educated work force and educated society would reduce criminal activity, and ensure greater success for the future of America.…
