In the play, Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, it is made clearly evident that Lady Macbeth used persuasion in an evil manner which then leads to Macbeth’s downfall. Lady Macbeth insists that committing regicide is their best option yet she makes Macbeth do the actual killing, this proves how manipulative she is. Also, she repeatedly questions Macbeth’s manhood so she can influence him to a big extent. Lastly, Lady Macbeth becomes less and less supportive of her husband despite the fact she was the one who began to lead him down a twisted path. Lady Macbeth may not be as evil as she is power hungry but she is responsible for her husband’s downfall and craziness.

Lady Macbeth foreshadows the regicide committed against King Duncan, she encourages killing the king because she does not think her husband is good enough to become king naturally. Therefore, Lady Macbeth played the bigger role in the decision to kill King Duncan and she treasures power over human life, this proves she has very evil and twisted traits.
Another reason to believe Lady Macbeth is more evil than Macbeth is the fact she is degrading Macbeth’s manhood. Whenever Lady Macbeth wants to push Macbeth outside his comfort zone she treats him with no respect and puts his manhood on blast. “When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man.” (Lady Macbeth 1.7.49-51). This quote occurs before the killing of King Duncan and as Macbeth questions the idea of regicide, it proves how manipulative and controlling Lady Macbeth is.
