Lady Macbeth evil? Or not evil? In the play “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare the character, Lady Macbeth is completely evil. Lady Macbeth convinces her husband to kill King Duncan, for her and Macbeth to become King and Queen. Throughout the text, there are moments where she is very evil, and very manipulative. For example, Lady Macbeth says, “Do mock their charge with snores. I have drugged their possets, that death and nature do contend about them whether they live or die” (II, II,7). Lady Macbeth is evil. Manipulative, unkind, and emotionless is what people would call her.
Lady Macbeth is very manipulative. She manipulated her husband into doing her evil deeds for her. Macbeth is convinced by his wife, Lady Macbeth, to kill King Duncan, for her and Macbeth to become the leaders." Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, your hand, your tongue; look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under't"(II, V, 64). She says to Macbeth to act kindly and act normal to Duncan even though he knows he must kill him tonight. As Duncan arrives at Macbeths castle, lady Macbeth greets him with open arms, as she lures him to his death. "Your Majesty loads our house. For those of old, And the late dignities heaped up to them, we rest your hermits"(I, IV,20). Macbeth is told that he is not a man, and that she is more of a man than he is because he does not want to kill King Duncan. She says, " When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man. Nor time nor place"(I, IV,50). When she finally convinces Macbeth to kill King Duncan she is most pleased with herself, because now they can be the rulers of the
