To What Extent Did Christopher Columbus Deserve A National Holiday

On the second Monday in October, Christopher was sailing under the flag of Spain. But he was really Italian. Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue to try to reach Spain. Many schools, offices, and government buildings are closed on the second Monday in October because of the discovery of the great Christopher Columbus when he found America. Some historians say that Christopher Columbus should not have a national holiday because of all the bad things he did over the journey across the ocean blue. But some Historians say that Christopher should have a National Holiday because of all good things that he did that was good for the world. In the articles “sail on” and “Columbus Doesn’t Deserve a National Holiday.” It states all the reasons way Columbus deserves a National Holiday and the reasons way he does not deserve a National Holiday.
