Enough To Keep Commandments

Superior Essays
To obey God we must know Him. John 14:15 says “If you love me, you will keep my commandments”. How can a person keep his commandments unless we make Christ the object of our faith? Once we do this then the Holy Spirit will help us do what we need to do in keeping His commandments. Jesus said in John 14: 16 “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever. (Comforter meaning “Parakletos” which means “one called to the side of another to help”) The Holy Spirit lives in the hearts of believers forever and will help us, and guide us as long as were willing to follow.
Before I turned my life over to the Lord in my adult years, I always knew of him but didn’t know Him enough to keep His commandments.

~Godly Wisdom~
I love seeking the Lord for wisdom and for those that seek shall find. God wants us to be wise and He wants us to ASK. Sometimes it doesn’t come quickly but never give up on seeking God for wisdom until wisdom comes. These verses below show what God says about it. Matthew 7:7-8.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Before I came to the Lord I didn’t think too much about Godly wisdom. I just thought wisdom was wisdom and I also thought it just came with age. Being young living life and just the daily routine of working and taking care of kids just didn’t give me time to think about anything else for a good while in my life. It wasn’t until knowing the Lord more that I realized I needed Godly wisdom. As I began to read the Bible I fell in love with Proverbs chapter

let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
There is a difference between worldly wisdom and Godly wisdom. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God (1 Corinthians 3:19) but when we understand the message of Jesus and Him crucified for our sins then we start receiving the wisdom of God. We see in 1 Corinthians 2:2 Paul says “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” This is the main message of the gospel, of course, we learn much more but knowing this truth will set you free. John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you

Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement. When going up against the men of Jabesh, Saul was very wise. He tricked them into thinking they were going to surrender but instead he and his men broke into their camp, slaughtering every one of them. However, Saul ignored God and his wise council, which allowed the spiritual health of his people to deteriorate much further than before. This alienated them from God.…

For example, the grandson in, “A Lesson from the Gully” learned an important lesson about wisdom when he was caught in the Gully. From this the boy learned that you should know what to do with what you know, how to do it, and when to do it. I for one, have often found myself with this same question, “What is knowledge and wisdom?” In the words of Joseph Marshall III, “Knowledge is the basis for wisdom, but it is not a guarantee that wisdom will follow. Wisdom is knowing what to do and say, or what not to do or say.”…

Wisdom comes from living.” Wrote Anthony Williams. Each man who lives, gains knowledge, but wisdom comes only by living in circumstances, and each of these men displayed their lives fruitfully for others to see. Written by Chaim Potok, The Chosen expressed what wise men looked like in their own individual ways. David Malter willingly fed wisdom to all who listened, and was equally kind with his words.…

Shearer.session1.journal I have had a lot of experiences that have shaped my life over the last five years of my life. The first I would have to say is my rededication to Christ and then the call to the ministry. To start with the rededication of my life to Christ, it was shortly after my separation and I went through a period of time lost and without purpose. My parents had been trying to get me to start going to church again and I was hesitant at first. Soon after starting back to church I was drawn by the Lord to rededicate my life and started to change a lot of things about myself in that time.…
