To Make America Great Again Analysis

The American Dream is the driving force for immigration. The American Dream is directly correlated to the statements made in the Declaration of Independence with the ideas of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The American Dream is centered upon the ideas of freedom with everyone having the ability to have equal opportunities and anything can be achieved through hard work, regardless of social status, race, or upbringing. The opportunities that America could offer was the driving force for the Ganguli family. Jhumpa Lahiri’s The Namesake is a story of a family who represent many immigrant families as a whole as they struggle with their assimilation into the American culture and daily life. This struggle arises as they adjust to foreign territory.
Throughout the campaign of current President Trump, his slogan was “To Make America Great Again!” One of the ways in which President Trump intended on making America great again was to reform the immigration system in the States by kicking out illegals and make another country pay for a wall that benefits the United States. However, Obama has mocked the whole notion of the creation of a wall and says that “Republicans will not be happy until there is a moat with alligators.” The former and current president both have similar ideas on foreign policy, but there are some differences in the way things are to be
