One of these occurrences was when Jem destroys Mrs. Dubose’s camellias. The result of this was that Jem had to read to her every day as a way of apologizing to her. Afterward, Calpurnia decides to take Jem and Scout to her church because Atticus had to attend an emergency meeting for his case. Aunt Alexandra arrives and decides that she will be staying with Atticus, Jem, and Scout for a while. Lastly, Dill returns to Jem and Scout’s house, but his mother was not aware of this. In this journal, I will be evaluating.

For instance, when she tells Atticus what he has to say to his children regarding their behavior. - She tries to do what she thinks is best for Jem and Scout, but she does not take into consideration that the kids considered this uncommon. An example of this would be when Aunt Alexandra wants Scout to talk to her cousin, which she has only met a few times. R- Jem and Scout have not been around Aunt Alexandra that often, so they don’t like her as much as they like Calpurnia. - Jem and Scout found it shocking when they told them that Aunt Alexandra was going to stay with them for a while. - She tries to fire Calpurnia, and even though the kids were not aware of this I can imply that they would have handled this information in a negative way. - It takes the kids some time to get used to Aunt Alexandra’s harsh disciplinary ways.
