In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, she explores a diversity of themes, through a child’s point of view. To Kill a Mockingbird is about a young girl, who goes by the name of Scout, growing up in a difficult society. She lives in Maycomb County, Alabama, during the early 1930s, and the Great Depression. One of the several themes that Lee explores in this novel is the issue of racism. Throughout the novel, the reader is able to observe Scout’s maturity, and change of opinion towards racism.
