Most nerdy professors agree that there are two obvious mockingbirds in Harper Lee’s novel. The two mockingbirds are Tom Robinson, a negro man who was accused of rape, and Boo Radley, a man who has been locked up in his house for the longest time. I believe there is a third mockingbird, and her name is Scout. The first mockingbird is Tom because he is caged in jail. Like a mockingbird, they can be caged. He also helps Mayella for free when she needs it. He cuts up wood for her on his way home from working in the fields.
The second mockingbird is Boo Radley. Boo loves seeing Jem and Scout play outside everyday and he cares about them. Boo leaves gifts for them in a tree trunk by his house. Mockingbirds leave us gifts, gifts of music. He saved Jem and Scouts life from Mr.Ewell. He was drunk one night and attacked them. Boo stabbed him in the ribs and he died. I think she is a mockingbird because she is brave, caring, and respectful. Just like a mockingbird, they are brave, caring, and respectful. Scout gets in fight at school with a boy in her grade. He had been talking about Atticus and calling him names because he was defending a negro. She is caring because when she sees Boo she is not mean or rude, she is respectful and nice to him. She talks to him and holds his hand. She invites him to go sit on the swing on the front porch with her. Then she walks him home. So my three mockingbirds are Tom, Boo, and
