As she said, “Walter looks like he has been raised on fish food (page 30).” As she talks about Walter, she doesn’t understand what he goes through, so she is too quick to judge him. Also, she states,” Jem seemed to have a fear of Boo Radley now that we walked beside him (page 31).” This is a good example because when she is saying that Jem is scared, she really does not know because Jem didn’t physically say he was scared. Scout is just basing it off of what she thinks instead of what Jem actually thinks of Boo Radley.
To conclude, Scout is not a reliable character in To Kill a Mockingbird because all of her stories are from her point of view, some of the stories she told are from when she was really young, so not every detail she told might’ve been correct, and because since she is the narrator of the story her emotions affect the way she tells the
