The whole setting of Halcomb writing to this crime writer wanting to tell his story, and wanting him to stay in his house is extremely eerie to begin with. However, this last line is all by itself which instantly makes it stand out just from a formatting point of view. It also sounds extremely like sarcastic and kind of rude almost and the whole feel of the question makes me feel weird and nervous.
“‘We didn’t realize she was pregnant until we saw what [the assailant] was holding,...’” (7).
In this situation they are talking about the daughter of an important man in town who was murdered and the police are recalling that they walked into the murderer holding the dead baby …show more content…
This quote that comes up while Audra and Maggie are sitting on the beach with a group of strangers is a little more sad than scary but regardless it does a good job and providing an emotion. It creeps me out to think that somebody could have that kind of effect on someone else just by being in the same room.
“The cry sounded terrified, a yell she imagined emanated from the throat of someone who had stumbled onto a dead body in the heart of the woods” (62).
Vee is a little 12 year old girl and she is alone in this weird forest behind her house trying to find first where laughter was coming from but now this scream. I am terrified for her safety, but I can’t really tell if this is a spiritual illusion or someone is being murdered but either way I am scared for this
