Adam M. Rose, 25, on Thursday pleaded not guilty in Holmes County Common Pleas Court to the charges. It is alleged Rose also used a gun and knife to threaten her, alluding to the violent murder-suicide that culminated in the death of her aunt, said Muzic, who, at a prior hearing, said the woman believes “if the system doesn't step up, she feels Adam will kill her.”
A dog kept as a companion animal by the woman's mother, in the wake of her sister's homicide, also was reportedly taken by Rose, on the anniversary of the homicide.
After telling her wife it was “either her or the dog,” Rose allegedly placed a noose around the dog's neck, tied it to his vehicle and dragged it down the roadway before driving over it and discarding its body in the woods, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed with the court.
Should Rose post bond, conditions prohibit him from having contact with the victim, her parents, or any companion animals.
Rowe, who remains incarcerated in the Holmes County Jail, is next scheduled to appear in court for a Nov. 16 pretrial conference. A jury trial is scheduled for Dec.
