As someone who has good grades, sometimes I have about two classes I struggle on. This class is one of them. I really like reading, but I feel like some of the books we have read were not in my genre and I couldn't focus on them to well. “Romeo and Juliet” wasn't terrible, it had some different perspectives. I learned how to find blame on one of the least significant person in a story. “How To Kill a Mockingbird” is different story. It is so well known that i found it slightly old and boring. Although it was a good book, I feel like I couldn't really connect with the problems that they faced. My biggest takeaway from this semester is that I need to read books with more understanding, and it is hard to read them on my own. I need guidance for achieving the standard we had to make. …show more content…
I didn't have the time to sit down and read for two hours straight like I used to. I have to work, go to practice, and right after go home and start doing other homework with no time to read. We only read two books this semester, “How To Kill a Mockingbird”, and “Romeo and Juliet”. Personally I liked “Romeo and Juliet” better because it was amusing to see how “dumb” they were. We had time to dive into the chapters, talking about every single one individually. On “How To Kill a Mockingbird”, we had to read about five chapters a day and be expected to know each chapter in detail. I think my best project was my speech, “How Band Makes You Smarter”.
