Courage is facing fear that is right before your eyes. Courage is standing up for what you are passionate about. Fear is no match for courage. In the story To Kill a Mockingbird Scout the narrator takes us through her life of growing up in the confusing and unpredictable town of Maycomb. Scout faces many problems as does her dad Atticus and her brother Jem and they learn many life lessons throughout the book. One of the most important themes in the book and real life is courage. Courage guides you along daring hardships that you never thought you could make it through. There are an abundance of examples of courage in the story. One example of courage is when there was a rabid dog on the loose.The kids noticed it and got Atticus and the sheriff Heck Tate.”I can't shoot that well and you know it,“said Atticus (lee 96). A theme is basically a lesson and courage should be the greatest lesson of all. One amazing example of courage in real life is of a man in World War two. Witold Pilecki was one of the most courageous men i have ever heard of. He volunteered to go into the Auschwitz camp and collect Intel on it then escape (Blake). After three years he escaped and gave all of his findings to the allies (Blake). This man was truly amazing. Another example of why courage is important is a man who goes by Desmond Doss. Desmond was a field medic in World War two when the Japanese attacked and he rescued 75 men all one at a time while he was being shot at (Oneill). This is true courage there is no way i could ever do that.
Courage is an important theme in the book To Kill A Mockingbird and in real life. Courage saves lives and pushes us to where we never thought possible.Courage can help us relate to others. Everyone can benefit from the theme courage. Not everyone can be Courageous but those who are make a
