There were many similarities, and differences between the novel and the movie . Things such as characterterization, also the way characters developed through out the story , and the setting of Maycomb , and it's importance . Also the themes , throughout both the movies and the novel . Not all the characters from the novel were part of the movie . Due to that a few scenes were omitted . Although the mannerisms are quite the same with the characters that were a part of both the novel and the movie . The clothing is also just the way as it was described in the novel . For example Scout was often considered , and described as a " tomboy " , and in the movie it showed exactly that , Scout was a tomboy . The dialect also contributes to the novel . It was the same , as in them being from the south . Which in the movie they did talk southern . Jem and Scout developed into being round characters . We learned a lot about them throughout the story . Jem and Scout are also dynamic . They change throughout the story , as they learn many things about the ways in Maycomb and life . Atticus was also a round character . We also knew many thins about gum . Although Atticus is a static character during both the novel and the …show more content…
Which was during the Great Depression . During that time there were many problems going on such as poverty , and unemployment . As with the Cunninghams , they were poor , and that was the reason why they would pay Atticus in a different way . " that's the only way he can pay me . He has no money " , said Atticus , and in the movie he says that the crash hit them hard . This was due to the fact that they were farmers . The novel and the movie were consistent with the setting of Maycomb . It was quite the same in the movie , as it was described in the novel
