Today people are highly prejudice towards many things whether its gender identity, sexual preference, race, anything. The topic i'd like to explain is prejudism on the trans community all over the world. Trans men and women suffer with judgment and being treated differently from a normal man or woman because they were not born as the gender they wish to be. In an article i read it stated “ trans people are regularly murdered for simply defying gender norms. According to Remembering Our Dead, the website that chronicles trans murder, there were 119 deaths between the years 2004 and 2008; averaging out to two unnatural deaths per month. Trans people of colour make up more than 60% of the list, proving that when race is added to the equation, challenging gender norms can be an even riskier proposition.” This is just one of many judgmental acts towards the trans community, i can also relate to this subject in my own personal ways such as people purposely misgendering me and taking highly judgmental. Prejudism on the trans community is just one of many ways that people are prejudice in modern day. All in all The novel To Kill A Mockingbird was an amazing book and the lessons Scout and Jem learn throughout the novel are very important especially in the world now. Prejudism and courage are two very, important lessons learned by the characters throughout the book which are shown prominently through their experiences. whether it may be with the mob or seeing Boo Radley for the kind man he truly
