In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell are characters foils since Bob lacks all of the positive traits that Atticus has, but they are both single fathers. Just like in real life there are many different people who can be in the same circumstances. Bob Atticus. Throughout To Kill A Mockingbird, Bob and Atticus are character foils

Atticus takes care of his children and educates them while Bob does the opposite. Bob denies to let“Nobody was quite sure how many children were on the place.”(287)
Mayella was obviously lonely and didn’t have much human contact except for her family, while Scout and Jem were encouraged to go to school and have friends.

In the Town of Maycomb Atticus is considered a good citizen.
