In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, a little girl tells a story of childhood. Although the story comes from a child's perspective, the meanings about innocence are endless. The book describes Innocence as a mockingbird, something beautiful that sings should not be harmed. This book has taught many things about life and how the world works. Although something may have innocence the whole world may not see it. The book does an amazing job explaining racism and the prosecutions against innocent people. Friends sometimes may be your enemy at first. In this book two boys that have different religious beliefs which drew them apart in the beginning, brings them together. The life lesson taught has extended symbolism about friendship and how friends may come along anywhere. Friendship should not matter if you are a different religion or race and The Chosen helps to explain this.
