The introduction paragraph/ About the story The novel ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ by author Harper Lee is about a family that lives in Alabama during the Great Depression, but our narrator is a little girl named Jean Louise Finch “Scout”. In the story, Atticus allows people to think what they want and respects their opinions, he decides not worry about what people have to say about him. Atticus goes on without anguish about people who have his name in their opinions it does not matter to him. The character is respectful and teaches his kids to do the same he wants them to learn that through the differences he wants them to love each and every person. Scout gets angry when people talk about her father and does not understand why people talk about him like that she asks Atticus if he really likes a certain type of people and Atticus responds with “‘I certainly am. I do my best to love everybody… I’m hard put, sometimes… it’s never an insult to be called what somebody thinks is a bad name. It shows how poor that person is...’” (Lee 144). Atticus tells Scout not to worry about what people have to say about them because, in the end, it does not matter unless you give them the power. Atticus respects others opinions but he is also when people talk about other people it can show people the true colors of the other person and can make them look bad. Scout does not understand yet but, she will and like her father maybe someday she will learn how to respect other people's opinions even if they are mean or she can see the
