If you were asked to defend a suspected terrorist or rapist, would you? Everyday there are lawyers who have to defend unpopular clients. Lawyers who defend these clients put themselves and others in dangerous situations. Once their names are associated with the case they put themselves and their families in a position to be harmed. Also, the lawyers could greatly damage their career. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus is defending a man who allegedly raped a woman.
