This activity positively influences his language development. The book he is reading is slightly above his reading level which ensures a challenge as well as enjoyment. Sadly, The Young Child doesn't cover information for Ronald stage (age 11 and stage 3), I can infer that Ronald's reading levels will increase and his fluency will slowly grow with practice. At his age he should be reading at a fifth grade level with a lexile score of 565L- 910L as stated by an online source.
