In the book To Build a Fire “the man” got frostbite or hypothermia. I am going to write about the dangers of frostbite and hypothermia. Then I will tell you which one he got which one he had. To start off, the 3 kinds of frostbite. Frostnip, which is the least harmful, superficial frostbite, which is a bit worse than frostnip and severe (deep) frostbite which is the worst. Frostnip can be taken care of at home, the other kinds need medical attention.With medical attention they rewarm the skin, oral pain medicine, protecting the injury, removal of damaged tissue (debridement), whirlpool therapy, infection fighting drugs, wound therapy, surgery (in severe cases), hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
