To Be Thankful

Improved Essays
Something I wished people realized is to be thankful of what we have such as the positive things in life no matter who you are: religious or nonreligious, have a home or homeless and/or the color of your skin. We are maybe different in our own way but being positive makes things better instead of cutting somebody down because of who they are.

Living life to the fullest instead of being depressed over something small like not having a video game that you wanted. Thinking about who loves and who care about you is all that matters. Be thankful for transportation, education, health, and enjoyment such as falling in love, having a stable job

The tectonic plates of society, technology, economy and environment are shifting beneath us every second, creating changes in our lives. Issues are rattling through our bones, forcing us to switch up what we believe and how we live. I personally believe that a huge issue that is changing this generation and one we will be dealing with more than other problems is learning how to shrink cynicism. There is so much information coming at us today it is hard to compute what is real, what is false, and more importantly, when to not be afraid, cynical, and apathetic. This generation needs to stop being stingy with love, and instead give it freely and without charge.…

The 4 ideals set forth in the utopian 10th stage of the human mind as described by Antoine Nicolas de Condorcet are guaranteed the livelihood for the aged, a universal system of education, fewer work hours, and the refinement of a technology for the accumulation of knowledge. (Pg. 305) The first ideal of the 10th stage of the human mind is guaranteed the livelihood for the aged. In other words, the elderly would be warranted means of support, and have nothing to be worried about.…

My final topic I wanna talk about is how being non-accepting will affect your future children and the children around you in your life. I don’t know about you but I’m gonna be a fabulous mother, and you may ask why I so firmly believe this and truly, it’s because I want my kids to be my world. My heart is already filled with too much love, my point being that no matter who they are I know I’ll love them. By being an unaccepting role model for a kid you are creating a child that knows hate.…

"Be Kind; Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle." It’s a saying we all have known and heard and as cliché as it may be, it’s something I think we all should be doing. Something that has seemingly become less of a thing now a day. Being kind, loving your fellow man, with so much death and murder in the world, it’s easy to look at the world we live in now as hopeless. We always have a tendency of letting the bad outweigh the good.…

Martin Luther King Jr. had a great quote stating “darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” His quote is very true because if you look at war, you have two different opposing forces hating each other, but in the end both sides suffer and there is no resolution. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted to say that people who are racist and would rather put hate against a race, rather than accepting it, it woulf never drive them out, just urge people to stand up to the racists and prove them wrong. This is an endless cycle of hate and war that is never resolved and in the end effects everyone in how they see every situation.…

Section A: One of the primary conflicts in Blade Runner is trying to identify real humans versus “replicants” (this is a challenge both for characters in the film and the film’s viewers). Without an identifier or test to determine who is human, how do we determine what makes a human “human”? Or what makes someone inhuman” (a monster)? How do you think Viktor Frankenstein would answer these questions? When we think of replicants, in movies or in books, we make them in our image.…

I’ve been thinking a lot about racism and how people treat black people. I think we need to learn things about each other. We all need more love less hate because we don’t all know how to be nice or nicer. We all need to start thinking about a way to stop racism because people are committing suicide because of racism mostly young people. We need to start learning more and more things about each other, and be nicer not meaner because some people only know how to be mean because they only hang around people who were really mean those people were their influences.…

I chose the topic to research what effect that pregnancy has on teenagers, their families and the people around them. Especially wanted to focus on the teenage girl and the decisions she has to make when she finds out she is pregnant. It is a huge responsibility to make the decision to have a child, to give your child up for adoption or to decide to abort your child; no matter the age. Teen parents are put into little stereotypes based on what people think they know about them, or what they have heard. I chose this topic because two of my sisters were teen parents, my other sister chose abortion and a lot of my friends got pregnant at a young age.…
