Analysis Of NFL Defensive Player By JJ Watt

Are people who we idolize and achieve prominence considered to be a virtuous person? The three time NFL Defensive Player of the year, JJ Watt, states that “Success isn 't owned. It 's leased and rent is due every day. Every single day, someone 's coming for your job. Someone 's coming for your greatness. If you 're the greatest, someone wants to be the greatest, and so if you 're not constantly improving your game, somebody else is.” This demonstrates his belief that excellence is obtained through competition, in which this is in everything that we do causing it to be everywhere; nevertheless, to a certain extant this is true, such as competing for desirable material goods, rewards, and power. JJ Watt is sought as being the best defensive end player in the National Football League. By hearing this, one would think that he played on the best team in the NFL, however; that is not the case. Even though JJ Watt is the best on the team, it does not improve the teams winning ability because it 's a team sport and to actually achieve greatness everyone on the team has to practice the perfect practice by keeping the balancing point of competition in order to compete with each other, which will enable them to support each other. It is very competitive to enter a nursing program, the competition starts from the day one decides to enter college for nursing. The individual has to maintain a high GPA, pass the nursing entrance exam, exit exam, and license exam to become a registered nurse. For nursing, competition is the ability to have the skills to reason; as well as the knowledge and inspiration to respond to the issues that arise in the profession. Aspiring nurses are constantly competing with one another; since only so many students are accepted into nursing school and once accepted there are only so many job offers after finishing school, they are always battling to purse greatness to achieve what they want to be and where they want to be in life. Therefore, a virtuous nurse tries to perform her job in an excellent manner; even though there is competition involved, it should be balanced with compassion because

The NFL has not effectively managed the concussion crisis because they did not alert players nor the public immediately upon research findings that football had a link to brain injuries. (Ezell, 2013) The NFL’s own retirement board conducted research which lead to the correlation of Mike Webster playing football for 17 years and his now permanent and disabling brain damage and refused to release this information to the public until 2009.…

Many people have an athlete that they look up to and that is their role model. Many of these people are children and teens so because of this people think that it is the sports teams responsibility to hold players to a higher standard for their personal conduct. It is the sports teams responsibility because of the power athletes can have in a society and the image of the team and the game they can create. Players should be held to a higher standard because since they are celebrities they have the power to spread messages to their fans and society. I have grown up watching, playing, and studying many different sports, whether it be football, or baseball, or basketball, or sometimes even soccer. I have always enjoyed playing sports, however, as an athlete, I have a distinct responsibility to practice sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is one of the most important facets of sports today. Sportsmanship allows us athletes to hate the other team for the duration of the game, but respect them at the same time. Sportsmanship is defined as “fair-play, respect for opponents, and polite behavior by someone in a competition.”…
