What It Means To be American To be an American means not being afraid to follow your dreams and follow your heart. To be an American means be willing to fight for what is right and not just for yourself, but for other people you may like or dislike. When you have a dream it is not just going to come true by luck. A soldier goes to war and risks his life for our freedom which is the American dream. And if your dream is to be successful you have to work hard in school, take risks and never give up on your dream. “I will always do what's right, I'm out here on the front lines, So you can sleep in peace tonight.”(Keith 36-38) THis also goes back to the claim that Thay you do not just do what you want for yourself, you do it for other people as well.
