Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that are derived from oxygen. Numerous study results from the past decades have shown that the accumulation of reactive free radicals has an important role in several pathological processes. Inflammation and hemorrhagic shock are just a few of these processes. Moreover, free radicals have been shown to also cause the onset of diabetes and even several types of cancer. Recently, a team of researchers has tried to determine whether the damage caused by free radicals can be reverted or stopped with the use of TMA-Zeolite. TMA stands for “tribomechanically activated”, and it refers to the process used in obtaining the active zeolite. Recent study results show that TMA-Zeolite is a very powerful antioxidant. Out of the 176 patients, 114 had a type of cancer (gastrointestinal, lung, or brain tumors) while the remaining 62 were suffering from diabetes.
