Titus's Feed Analysis

Improved Essays
Titus is the perfect example of the expected product of the Feed based environment. The Feed creates a way of life which causes Titus to heavily influenced, as well as dependent on it, this phenomenon is most apparent during the deactivation of Titus’s Feed. Accordingly, he felt a certain kind of helplessness while he was no longer enveloped by constant stimulation. The influence of the Feed on Titus is shown every time he uses one of the unsophisticated slang words of the feed, and every time he is with his friends. Furthermore, his amount of control over his identity is questionable because the feed decides what he wants, but still bases that off his actual likes and dislikes which could mean that he has a lot of control over his identity.

The idea of control is dominant not only in current affairs, but, as The Odyssey by Homer demonstrates, it has been on the forefront of many relations since before the development of politics. The Odyssey presents an intriguing scenario in terms of control by presenting characters who seem to have it all together but in reality don’t and vice-versa. For example, though Odysseus is the hero of The Odyssey, he has relatively little control over his life compared to his wife Penelope. Penelope uses her mind and intelligence to control the people around her. Odysseus, on the other hand, has less control over his life because of the gods’ constant interference with it and the fate he is facing, but he is still able to control the impressions…

After first reading D’J Pancake’s short story, “Time and Again,” it is very easy to compare that story to an episode of Criminal Minds, called “To Hell and Back” (Lucas Turner, 2005, n.p.). When we read the story in class, I immediately began comparing the two together. There are so many similarities between these two stories and their main characters, even if they are different. In both stories, there are men who seem to have a mental disability that causes them to do almost the exact same thing, which is feeding humans to domesticated hogs (Pancake, 2006).…

In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley talks about a monster, who transforms from an innocent individual to an evil person at the end. The entire story revolves around the monster and his creator, who abandons the monster at the time of monster’s creation. Furthermore, the society rejects the monster and this rejection changes the harmless being to a harmful creature. Thus, Shelly comments on the idea of human nature being learned and not innate through her tale of the monster. I strongly believe Mary Shelley’s portrayal of the monster in the story depicts human transformation based on their experience in the society.…

“The meaning of Othello’s murdering Desdemona depends on their marriage and their marriage’s meaning is invested in Othello’s blackness” (Little 306). The racism drove him crazy and Iago didn’t make it better. When Iago tells Othello that Desdemona was cheating on him, he thought that his blackness and Moorish characteristics changed her and made her do it because Iago and other characters like Brabantio said it would. When Othello killed Desdemona, his literal blackness became metaphorical (Little 322).…
