-Equality is a commonly used term but what do you believe it truly means in our society today? Is equal always fair and is fair always equal?
Equality is one person has all of the the same rights and opportunities as anybody else; fairness. Even though the definition says everybody has the same rights and opportunities, I still feel like we haven’t reached the true definition of equality because there are still problems based on gender today! Equality should be fair, but fair is not equal all the time.

Pro: Title IX has improved sports programs. People say “Sports programs improved due to Title IX” because it has improved opportunities for girls and women. Before the creation of Title IX, women and girls had little to no opportunities regarding degrees at universities. But, it also had a big affect on women’s athletics. After Title IX took place, many women took part in athletics. They say doing sports in high school and/ or college, it leads to a better life.
Con: On the other hand, some say the creation of Title IX weakens Sports Programs. People say this because they think men have more interest in sports than women do. So, this means men go out and do the sports rather than women who maybe interested in sports but may not feel like it is the right thing to do, which weakens the sports programs.
What has been the legal struggle/accomplishment to advance equality for this group?
An accomplishment in women’s athletics to advance equality is giving scholarships. However, men’s sports may get more scholarships to offer, but women still get some scholarships to play sports in the collegiate
