The ultimate goal of the reading teacher is to develop strong independent proficient readers through effective reading instruction. Providing effective instruction to all students is an enormous task to achieve, as individual child learn differently. Therefore, differentiation in the delivery of the instruction is critical, particularly for struggling readers. According to Title 1 remedial reading programs adds about two month’s per year to struggling readers growth rate and special education
While struggling readers participate in a variety of interventions, students’ reading scores relatively remain the same, qualifying for continued Title 1 services following the benchmark period. Obtaining reading proficiency and maintaining the status
