On April 15th, 1912 around 2 a.m. in the morning, in the Northern part of the Atlantic Ocean, the world’s biggest and most luxurious cruise line ships just had sunk. This horrific sinking of the ship is very devastating and the ship contained roughly around 2,200 passengers on board. 1,500 of the 2,200 passengers including women, men and children, and many of the crew members working for the ship had lost their lives. That is merely more than two-thirds of the passengers that died on that ship accident. The ages of the victims that lost their lives that morning, ranged from the tender age of 19 months to 75 years old. The ship was a whopping 883 feet and that is pretty big and especially for the time period it was built and shown off in the many newspaper articles and the press. But in this article, the author states and shows us the readers the facts and the mysteries that do not add up when the media and the “Titanic’s” engineers could not prove and explain about the ship. The author briefly explains in his article on the differences and the similarities that the Titanic and the Titanic’s sister the “Olympia”. To make one of his many points to prove that the Olympia was used, instead of the Titanic because they did not finish the Titanic on time. Also, the author brings up the point that the Titanic and the Olympia had a different number of portholes. The Titanic had 14 portholes and its sister ship had 16 portholes. The author also includes 2 photographs of the 2 vessels and compares them and you can clearly see the difference between the two, and it makes you wonder if the Olympia sank instead of the Titanic, which means that the Titanic still exists and could be anywhere right …show more content…
Rachel and a group of researchers that had been looking at the way on how the Titanic sank, which the researchers had been studying and analyzing the evidence for 30 plus years. On top of that, she herself and a group of historians can confirm that the ship that had sunk on April 15th, 1912 was indeed the Titanic. Also to mention that the 30 years of specializing and studying on the Titanic, is a lot of time to be researching over on how a ship sank. Yes, we all know that the Titanic did hit an iceberg, but when you look at the evidence and the place of impact on where the boat struck the iceberg and where the iceberg damaged the ship. It kind of is hard to believe that the iceberg was not the only factor of causing the ship to sink. They believe that also a fire where a group of 12 men would shovel coal into the a part of the ship’s engine to keep it running. They believe that the extreme temperatures affected the steel of the ship, causing the steel to warp and making it more easy to bend. So that the ship’s steel lining was weak from the temperatures and making it more easy to rip through the lining of the ship, making it more easy to sink the ship. Also notable to mention, History.com As many people suspect that the Titanic never sank, History.com shows the world that the

There were many probabilities to why it sunk. They called the Titanic the unsinkable ship because it was designed to stay afloat with 4 watertight compartments breached. Before the departure of the ship the White Star line and the owners of the ship announced that the ship was unsinkable and from there that is where everyone started to think that it was the unsinkable. Many people started buying tickets because they wanted to be the first to board the enormous ship that would cross the Atlantic Ocean. Many people believe the Titanic was sunk by an iceberg, however; the iceberg was really only part of the problem. Ignorance is the other reason for the sinking of the Titanic. The Titanic had enough lifeboats for over 50% of people to get off the Titanic, but due to confusion and unpreparedness most lifeboats were not even filled to maximum capacity. Yet, that was not the only reason for the loss of life. Many deaths were those of the third class, mostly immigrants, while those of the first class had been on lifeboats before the third class had even woke.…

It’s early 1980s and Dr. Robert Ballard has a dream. That dream was to discover the Titanic. The depth of the Atlantic Seabed would force Dr. Ballard to go deeper than any deep-sea diver had gone before. In 1973, the ALVIN (a manned deep- ocean research submersible owned by the United States Navy) had to go through structure changes to withstand the depth necessary to reach the Titanic which was around 13,000 feet. The researchers did not have much to go on in terms of a location for the ship itself.…

Such regulations, with the focus on the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), was readily investigated in order to promote safety of navigation, and come to an international agreement on the safety of merchant ships. Examples of mistakes resulting in horrendous conclusions are having flawed watertight compartment design, which were individually true as impermeable, but permitted water to spill from one compartment into another. Moreover, the crews’ impracticality resulted in a largely disorganized and haphazard evacuation process with the lowering of the first lifeboat; the craft was designed to hold up to 65 people, while leaving with only 28 aboard (CITE). Furthermore, in compliance with the law of the sea, women and children boarded the boats first- only when there were no women or children insight- nearby men were permitted. Yet, in fact, many of the victims were set to be women and children, as a result of disorderly procedures that failed to be adhered.…

The Royal Mail Steamer Titanic was the product of intense competition among rival shipping lines in the first half of the 20th century . On May 31, 1911, Titanic’s immense hull–at the time, the largest movable manmade object in the world–made its way down the slipways and into the River Lagan In Belfast. According to some hypothesis, the Titanic was doomed from the start by the design so many lauded as state-of-the-art. Titanic created quite a stir when it departed for its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, on April 10, 1912. The encounter took place roughly four days out, at about 11:30 p.m. on April 14.…

In this essay I will be deliberating my personal response on the three texts: A Night to Remember by Walter Lord, Every Man for Himself by Beryl Bainbridge, and The Convergence of the Twain by Thomas Hardy. These texts convey the story of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, but altogether they are completely different types of writing. Walter lord’s text is a factual account, while Beryl Bainbridge’s book is a historical fiction novel, and Thomas hardy’s is a poem. All of these texts refer to the Titanic’s collision. In ‘A Night to Remember’ they described the boat coming toward the iceberg more than they described the actual collision, “it was a little like coming alongside a dock wall rather heavily”.…

The Titanic was the “unsinkable” ship that sank and took the lives of 1,522 passengers and crew. The ship was widely believed to be the safest ever built at the time; however, the ship’s builders never said it was unsinkable. It was actually Shipbuilders magazine that described the ship as “practically unsinkable”. Though it has been over one-hundred years since the sinking of the Titanic, the story, which includes both heroes and villains, still enthralls us (Hutchings).…

What does one think of when the name Titanic is said? That it was one of perhaps the most tragic events to have ever occurred on the sea? What is certain however is that it is one of the most remembered historical events to have ever occurred on the ocean and it is possible that the words “criminal negligence” come to one’s mind however, people look at it most have no idea of the true reasons the Titanic sank and that is why several people over the years have delved into the mystery of what sank the ship God himself could not. Most believe it to be the one accomplishment of a lone iceberg what most do not know is that there was a fire burning in one of the worst areas a fire could have burned.…
