Laura esquirel begins to tell the life story of Tita de la garza in her book Like Water for Chocolate. Tita is born to Elena de la Garza who is the mother of Tita and her older sisters Rosaura and Gertrudis. Elena was seen as an untouchable person. None of them especially Tita doesn’t get to live very independent but instead live with their mother doing work like cooking, cleaning, washing and other Jobs. She basically controls the lives of Tita, Rosaura and Gertrudis. Throughout the story the main character Tita goes into major situations and goes through emotions that aren’t familiar with her. Laura Esquirel uses symbols and emotions that revolve around the story to explain the significance of human nature. The painful and emotional life of Tita de la Garza shows the pressure and intensity of the story’s theme.

Tita found Nacha dead right after the wedding of Pedro and Rosaura . “On that day of the wedding, when Tita went looking for her, she found Nacha lying dead, her eyes wide open, medicinal leaves upon her temples, a picture of her fiance clutched in her hands”. ( pg 41) In this event of the story Tita was shocked of what she had looked at. She found her only true family member and her friend. That person was the only person she trust at that time. This impacted her a lot because she doesn’t have anyone to save her. Tita on that point was alone with her mother and her sister Rosaura. This shows that Tita was depressed and in pain.
At the end of chapter 12 of Like water for chocolate out that Tita and Pedro had passed away. After a long time where they had to hide their relationship from everyone so that they cannot know. Pedro and Tita at long last are finally alone together. “At that momene the bedspread, which ignited the entire ranch.” (pg.245)t the fiery bodies of Pedro and Tita began to throw off glowing sparks.
