Tinnitus is a very common disorder among older people, but it can manifest itself in younger people as well. Episodes of tinnitus may be brief or can be a permanent problem. The constant buzzing noise can affect concentration and cause insomnia. It may also lead to anxiety and sometimes even depression. The annoying ringing in the ears can affect one or both ears, and has no external cause. The sound appears to come from within the ear and is described as buzzing, whistling or ringing. There is nothing in reality that is causing the sound, it is a "misunderstanding" between the brain and the signals that come from the nerves inside the ear.

This condition should not be taken lightly, because it may indicate the existence of a more serious problem that may affect one's quality of life. The first thing to do is determine what causes the buzzing noise: it can be caused by the accumulation of wax in the ears, but it may also be triggered by poor circulation, ear infections or hearing loss caused by age.
