The mixture was placed in the microwave for 30 minutes at 80oC Pro6 Spacer (10) (30 mg, 0.036 mmol) and 18 (36 mg, 0.087 mmol) were dissolved in 778 µL DMF. Copper sulfate (1.62 mg, 0.006 mmol) and sodium-L- ascorbate (2.57 mg, 0.013 mmol) were dissolved in 86 µL H2O. The two solutions were combined in a microwave tube and put in the microwave for 30 minutes at 80oC. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure.…

The definition of solubility is the quantity of any given substance that can be dissolved in the other, or the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in a solvent, which is why the solubility of Minoxidil is water. In other words, it is a substance that dissolves in another substance ranging from a solid mixed with a liquid, liquid mixed with other liquids, and gases mixed with liquids, but the only two things that can affect…

The purpose of this lab is to determine the Ka of an indicator within an unknown solution. This can be determined because acid-base indicators are weak bases or acids, and when neutralized they change colors. The color change is measured by the light absorption spectra in the compound which can be used to calculate the concentration. This experiment measures the concentrations by the different pH values which allows the pKa and Ka to be determined. Through the experiment, and the recorded color change with the use of the Spec 20 the unknown Ka of the solution was found.…

It is also recommended by ICH that all routine impurities at or above the 0.1 % level, should be identified through appropriate analytical methods [7], [8], and [9]. In the synthesis of Posaconazole, the process related impurities are identified by MSN laboratories, they are Hydroxytriazole, Tosylated compound, Deshydroxy posaconazole and Benzylated posaconazole. (Fig.1) [10]. Therefore, it was thought worth determining the impurities of Posaconazole to ensure the quality, efficacy and safety of the active ingredient and final pharmaceutical formulation. The four processes related impurities, a method for analyzing Posaconazole in the presence of these impurities, and the degradants obtained during forced degradation studies was required to be developed for the method is to be stability…

During this experiment that was conducted in partners, the concentration of RNase H that was purified in the previous experiment #6 was determined and also the concentration of an unknown given solution using their absorbance values obtained from the spectroscopy apparatus. These concentrations were calculated using the equation of the line produce with the values of the concentration (x-axis) and corresponding absorbance (y-axis) of five protein bovine gamma globulin standard solutions. In order to prepare each of these standards within a range of 50 microliters to 1200 microliters and using a provided stock solution of 1.46 mg/mL of the protein bovine gamma globulin (IgG) different calculations were performed in order to find out the exact…

Objective The objective of the experiment was to determine the purity and components of a mixture of fluorescein and bromonitroindoline, as well as separate them, through the process of thin layer chromatography. Procedure Part A- Separation of Compounds by Thin Layer Chromatography • Three 100 mL beakers and watch glasses were cleaned in preparation for this experiment. Three silica gel plates were acquired from the instructor, and to each plate a line was drawn 5 mm from the edge of the plate on both sides with a pencil, this was done carefully as to not scratch or break the plate’s gel layer. After marking the plates, three different concentrations of methanol and dichloromethane were prepared in the three beakers: a solution with 1 mL methanol and 1 mL dichloromethane, a solution with 1 mL methanol and 2 mL dichloromethane, and a solution with 1 mL methanol and 3 mL dichloromethane.…

The study of the “impact of artificial light on the production of sugars and starch by seedlings” was conducted to compare the effectiveness of seed artificial light compared to natural light to see if artificial light could be used as a substitute for artificial light. To produce the results to create a comparison, students conducted Starch Testing and Carbohydrate testing. The starch testing consisted 6 tubes, two of which were controlled samples with and without a Lugol’s Iodine, two experimental samples with and without Lugol’s, Iodine, as well as one tube with water that contains Lugol’s Iodine. Each tube that contains Lugol’s Iodine had three drops of Lugol’s and ten drops of the other solution.…

An experiment was carried out to determine the percent of 100 percent cranberry juice in cranberry apple juice. This experiment is significant in everyday chemistry because it is the job of many chemists, in regulatory agencies such as the FDA, to quantitatively determine if the ingredients listed on the label of a substance are actually in that substance. Cranberry juice has particular qualities that are not found in other juices. The quality studied in this experiment was color. Cranberry apple juice is a mixture, but, because it is said to contain cranberry juice, it should also have some of the same unique identifying quality, color, that cranberry juice has.…
