Initial Analysis of Findings
Together Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission that revolves around the idea of preventing and ending homelessness. The organization strives to accomplish this through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Tina Murray is a housing stability specialist that is one of the directors of a new housing program that is being piloted by Together Inc. Tina has worked in several different positions at Together throughout the years. She later realized that she enjoyed working with and handling crisis situations, which helped lead her to her current position. Additionally, Tina greatly appreciates that she is still able to interact with both those who work for Together, but also those who utilize the services. Through the interview, it became apparent that there are several elements that we have learned through the course that could be applied to Tina’s position at Together. There were, however, several elements that were highly emphasized: partnerships with other organizations to help promote the mission and for marketing, strategic planning with clients and management, and how to use funds

When I asked Tina about what she thought the biggest challenge the organization is currently facing, she responded “The various barriers that are in place at other organizations.” Tina gave an example of how difficult it can be for individuals to get the resources they need without having the appropriate identification. However, there are often additional barriers in place that make it even more difficult for these individuals to obtain a form of identification. This problem again refers back to the idea of the emergence model. It is crucial for Tina to learn and identify what works best to be able to provide the appropriate help to those in need, which has also lead to the development of a new housing
