Tina Maze is a skier who is currently 33 years old. Her birthday is on May 2, 1983 and she was born in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. Slovenia is a country next to Italy. Tina Maze is a World Cup ski racer and a double Olympic gold medalist. Tina is the most successful Slovenian ski racer in history with a career that culminated with two gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Maze first won her World Cup race at Solden, Austria during the season of 2003, but not by herself. Maze, tied three ways with two other skiers. In 2004 season, Tina began to do downhill racing after she got runner up in a giant slalom. 2005 was a very successful season for Tina, “she won 3 giant slalom races and scored two super-G podiums, both 3rd places. She finished the season 10th in the overall standings with 650 points: 366 in giant slalom, where she finished fourth. At the 2005 World Championships Maze finished sixth in super-G and 10th in the combined.” from the sports-Reference.com.

She passed the previous record of 1,980 points, set last season by Lindsey Vonn. Tina left her closest rival Maria Hoefl-Riesch trailing 1,313 points. "This is the final win I expected. I won the first and last race of the season. It's perfect," said Tina because she had not won the racing title the previous year. "After the disappointment yesterday, to end like this is unbelievable. I'm lost for words. Now it's time to celebrate and take some time off," she sais. Maze, who got first place in every race she entered, since the opener in Soelden.
