“There are no mistakes, only opportunities.” (Goodreads). Tina Fey grew up watching the TV shows Saturday Night Live and Second City Television. Fey’s role model was Catherine O’Hara. By the time Tina Fey was in middle school she knew she was interested in comedy. In the legacy unit people and groups made a big impact, everyone leaves a legacy, whether a bad one or a good one. Tina Fey has left a legacy of being a role model for women, she has inspired many women to do great things.
Tina Fey was born on May 18 1970 in Darby, Pennsylvania. When Tina Fey was 5 years old she was playing in an alley behind her home, a stranger appeared and slashed her face with a knife” (Tina Fey Biography). She is now left with a signature scar, Tina Fey did not let this incident define her. Tina Fey went to the University Of Virginia to study drama. After she graduated she went to The Ancestral Home Of American Comedy in Chicago. After about nine months, a teacher told her to just skip ahead and audition for the more selective Second City Training Center. She didn’t get in, but about eight weeks later she re-auditioned and got into the year-long program. She ended up spending many years at The Second City in Chicago where many Saturday Night Live cast members

What has Tina Fey “left behind”? Tina Fey has starred and been in many movies, but that’s not her biggest legacy, her biggest legacy is being a role model for women. She was the first head female writer for Saturday Night Live, and inspired many women. She created her own show: 30 Rock, and starred in it. Tina Fey has shown many women that they can succeed in a male dominant industry. She shows women that if they want something they shouldn’t let anything or anyone hold them back. Tina says “Don’t waste your energy trying to change opinions. Do your thing and don’t care if they like it.” (Goodreads). She has been able to accomplish all that she has, by living by this
